I would agree completely with that statement - the quality just doesn't seem to be there any more. I use my wells for about half the year dog walking an my festivals are splitting on the joint between foot and leg - so wet feet and they are cracking even though they have been out of the sun its not good

Only fit for treading down the odd divot on the polo field or the pages of Country Life. Within a year of serious use the main body perishes and the soles are practically worn out. Comfortable yes but practical no. My wife loves them but needs a new pair every year. My old cheapies go on forever, brand, goodness knows!
